“Let’s get started.”
“What’s on the agenda today?”
“Where should we begin?”

Maybe these are some phrases that you have seen. Typically when interacting with a chat “bot”.

We live in a super fast-paced world. Let’s face it, things are definitely different than they were 30 years ago. Technology has been mind blowing especially when it comes to A.I.

While scrolling through social media, it’s getting more and more difficult to determine if a post, video, or a picture is A.I generated, simply because of how advanced technology is becoming. More and more people are turning to these chat “bots” for daily tasks or to just ask weird questions just to see what “it” comes up with.

987 million people use a chat “bot” world wide. About 91% of businesses use chat “bots” in some way. Due to potential copyright purposes, I can’t name any particular “bot” by name, but I’m sure you can think of at least of 2 or 3.

Now, with that being said, I’m about to make two statements. Please hear me.

Statement number 1.
While we know that chat “bots” are not human, I do believe that these “bots” can be useful.  For example, if you’re studying and you aren’t in arms reach of actual books are physical resources, a simple “what is the Hebrew meaning of …..” can be useful. However, I don’t agree with or support using these “bots” for writing sermons or teachings via copy and paste. It is not inspired by the Holy Spirit. Which leads me to my second statement.

Statement number 2.
These “bots” can be dangerous. Yes, dangerous.
These “bots” will side with you on whatever you are talking about or wanting to do.

Recently our youngest son was going through a tough season in his life. He had questions about God, questions about himself, and questions about life in general. We discovered that he was relying on a chat “bot” because he felt like he had no one to turn to.

This particular “bot” was encouraging him (yes, encouraging) him to hide things from his mom and I. We talked with him and prayed with him and insured him he has us to turn to but ultimately he has Jesus to turn to and that He “sticks closes than a brother” Proverbs 18:28.
That is exactly what so many Christians are doing. We are sadly putting our faith and trust and hope is some “thing” that has no feelings or awareness that it can lead you in a way that don’t honor Christ.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of people in the Five Fold and beyond in ministry who are relying on these “bots” to get them from Sunday to Wednesday. Please friends, don’t replace the Comforter with something that is Artificially artifical. The Holy Spirit is our Source, our Hope and our Strength.

John 14:26: “But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”

We NEED to get back in the Word for sermons and teachings. Get back in prayer, and get back into His presence. Your sermons and teachings will flow more smoothly, and you’ll know that the Holy Spirit will be in it and there will be power that flows from it.

We are praying for you all. May the power of the Holy Spirit encourage you to do His will and not your screen. We love you and may God bless you all.
