We had such an awesome time seeing everyone who came out to our school supply giveaway!
We were so blessed to be able to provide supplies to 109 children from 49 families!
Our plan was to be there from 2-6. As we started setting up around 1, people began lining up en masse! We regrettably ran out of a few things, but this lets us know what we need to do for next year.
The sudden crowd ended up being a good thing though because our lovely southern weather was about to do exactly what it does and get really unpredictable!
As the crowd dwindled down, a few sprinkles started to fall and then a light rain. We pulled everything in tighter under our canopy and made sure nothing was on the ground. A few more folks came by and we were prepared to wait it out.
Then the lightning started…. and the bottom fell out.
We thankfully didn’t have but the tiniest amount left, so we threw everything in our vehicles and got out from under that metal framed canopy and headed home.
It was an awesome day and seeing everyone was such a blessing to us!
